DATE: Thursday, May 20, 2004
TIME: 7:30pm (sharp) to 10:10pm
INSTRUCTOR: GM Larry Christiansen

EVENT: GM Christiansen will speak for one hour about classical double e-pawn gambits, including some time discussing the Benko gambit. After the lecture, Christiansen will play a G/45 clock simul. Each board will match the instructor vs. a team of five. The starting position for each game will be a late opening or early middlegame position discussed during the lecture. Thus, the students will have an opportunity to practice against a GM some of the ideas learned during the seminar. If time permits, GM Christiansen will review the most interesting simul games.

REGISTRATION: $7 MetroWest CC members, $10 non-members ($2 discount for lecture only tickets). Simul participants will be chosen on a first to register basis. The first 30 MetroWest CC members to register will be guaranteed a playing spot. Register early to guarantee your spot! If there are less than 30 MetroWest CC members registered, the remaining spots will be filled with non-members on a first to register basis. You will be issued a ticket upon registration. You MUST provide this ticket on the night of the event.
