Demographics

About the Data

The Demographics on this page are primarily weekend tournaments held in the region.  In addition, a few other large events, such as the World Open, are included for comparison purposes and because many regional players play in these other large events.
Most of the events use data taken directly from the official USCF Crosstable for the event.  Side games are not included.
As of July 2005 the USCF provides the ability to have any Crosstable emailed to you going back to part of 1992 when they started keeping the data in a database.  Only registered Tournament Directors or Affiliates have access to this Crosstable emailing feature.
This demographic data has been collected by various means since it was first created by MetroWest Club member Mark Kaprielian when he first started volunteering for Maca in 1997 and joined subsequently served on the board for several years.  He perceived a need for this information being readily available.  As of July 2005 Mark continues to maintain this data and generate the reports.
As the other demographics which were last posted on the Maca site in 2002 are updated, they will be migrated to the MCC site to continue to make them available to the regional chess community.
